Winchester Systems Announces Cross Licensing Agreement With Crossroads Systems (August 10, 2009)

BILLERICA, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/10/09 -- Winchester Systems Inc. announced that it has completed a cross licensing agreement with Crossroads Systems, Inc.

Winchester Systems has licensed a set of patents from Crossroads Systems that collectively provide access control (e.g., "LUN masking") capabilities in shared storage environments such as Fibre Channel and iSCSI SANs. LUN masking enables the company's FlashDisk RAID disk arrays unit to assign all or part of a physical array as logical volumes to various servers and protects against accidental or unauthorized access.

"Partitioning and sharing today's very large disk arrays for use by a variety of physical or virtual servers is now very important," stated Mr. Jerry Namery, the company's chief technology officer. "We are pleased that we are able to offer this technology licensed from Crossroads Systems in our entire line of Fibre Channel and iSCSI hosted disk arrays," he added.

Crossroads Systems has licensed certain rugged disk arrays from Winchester Systems which broadens their product offerings. The disk arrays meet military standards including MIL-STD-810E environmental specifications including vibration, temperature and humidity and MIL-STD-461D electromagnetic interference specifications.
