With thousands of accessories to choose from it can be hard to decide which ones to buy for the iPad mini. TrustedReviews iPad mini tips and tricks include the best cases to buy to make sure the vulnerable back remains unscratched, as well as other great accessories which increase battery life or help aspiring musicians.

iOS6, Apples latest operating system for the iPad mini, comes with a number of accessibility options making it the most friendly and usable version of iOS for the visually impaired. Tips covered include settings for colour-blindness, quick-access zoom and text to speech functions.

Here are just 3 top tips:

1. Using iCloud
iCloud is Apples Cloud storage solution. Turn it on and it will back up precious data to Apples servers. Access it by going to its own sub-menu within Settings. An on-off flick switch for all the information types that can sync, including calendar, mail, contacts, reminders and photos can be found there.

2. iMessage lets you text iPhones
The iPad mini is not a phone, but it can text iPhone users. Its Messaging app uses iMessage. When iPhones are connected to the internet, this is what they use to communicate with other iOS devices, like iPhones and iPads, instead of SMS. YMessages won;t be received when it's not connected to the internet, but its a super-handy feature.

3. Problem app? Close it down
It is a myth that iPhones and iPads dont have bugs. iOS, Apples operating system for the iPhone and iPad, just hides them very well. If an app freezes or misbehaves, it can be shut down easily. First, hit the Home key to leave the app. This does not close the app, to do that requires a double tap on the home key to bring up the multi-tasking menu. Now, hold down a finger on the app in questions icon on this pop-up menu until a little red stop mini-icon appears on it. Tap this mini-icon to close the app. Press the Home button to make the multi-tasking menu disappear and it should be able to run the app as normal once more.
